Memory

What's the best memory you have?

I've had many memories, most hardly the best but nevertheless worth etching deep.

It was probably him.

Our first night meeting, we talked, me lying on the bed and him on his chair. It was reserved, and albeit it wasn't the best conversation I've had, I remember everything clearly. The husk smell of cigarettes and air-con, the soft chinese music shuffling on winamp and his World of Warcraft wallpaper. It was an empty room, a bed, a simple brown wardrobe, a computer and a table for it.

Reservations didn't last the night, for soon we found ourselves on the bed talking and staring in each other's eyes. His smug, yet cheeky grin. I remember his eyes, they were normal, boring eyes. We made out quite abit, and before we knew it clothes were sheathed and lying on the floor but we never really had sex. Something in me was glad that we didn't. I fell asleep in his arms.

I woke up in the same pair of arms, and the first thing I saw was him. We slept through the morning and into the afternoon. The curtains were drawn slightly and there was something about the morning glow cast on him that made him so beautiful. I was almost afraid to leave, because I knew of my own fickleness. I knew my heart was a violently confused object, and somehow I was more intrigued by the beauty of the night, rather than him. Like the night, our 'relationship' was short lived. It was perfect, too perfect despite him being the total opposite guy I thought I'd fall for.

I like to believe that was a brief moment when I felt love, even though we didn't know much of each other. But maybe the simplicity of it all, the absence of complexity and detail - that was what made it the most beautiful memory.

Thank you, Leraine. For giving me a chance to recover the precious bit of memory I've shuffled back in my head, for the friendship that you never gave a chance to question, for the tight, squishy hugs you give me and for the look on your face everytime I bump into you.

Thank you, really.

I was at the airport viewing gallery with a few of the best friends I've ever had. It wasn't much. Friend A was camwhoring, Friend B and I were grimacing in disgust before we grudgingly joined in. Friends C and D were cramming for their JC exams.

It really wasn't anything dramatic, but I loved them so much and that made it a memory. Not the best, but one of. I've lost most contact with Friends A, B and C.

Yesterday. Since it's 12:56AM now.

Woke up with a weird dream coupled with equally weird day of mishaps. =D The best present fate gave me for my birthday :)

I don't have any bests, but I definitely have a few pretty awesome ones.

I remember the day you guys gave me my birthday present.

We were at my place, with the rain falling and Diana Krall crooning. I was wrapping a present, and you and Siew were falling asleep on the couch.

That was good.

I remember the day I slow danced with my dad. I was 15 then.

I had been studying literature for an exam and Toy Story's You've Got A Friend In Me was playing loudly on my speakers.

He'd gotten off work late and had walked into my room to see what I was doing. That's when we started talking about how much we liked the song (and the movie).

"Come here and give me a hug, I haven't seen you the whole day."

I put down my highlighter, and got up to hug him. The hug turned into a slow dance in my awfully cramped bedroom, with Toy Story still blasting on my speakers.

That was really good.

it is strange, but i cant recall any best memories ive had now.

the only best thing i can recall is yesterday night. i was sitting in my dad's car, it was around 2300 and my dad was sending off his bowling mates. i jumped for a ride because he picked me up from work.

the car stopped at a traffic light, and when i looked out, i saw an ugly tall weed swaying in the wind, with the streetlamps washing yellow light over it.

and that made me feel happy and peaceful :)

I remember one hockey game back up north. I took a stick to the helmet and lost conciousness. When I woke up, the team stat keeper, some girl I had a crush on for about a month was holding my head and putting a towel to a huge cut.

Cliche I know but it was a good feeling.

I love you, you silly endearing sweetheart. :)

Sarah:
That's one of my favourites too. No shit.

Sany:
That's so you, but it's so.. nice and warm and fuzzy. Like you. :)

Charles:
Yes that WAS cheesy. Lol.

Amanda:
I remember. One of my best memories with you? Taking a cab home from Suntec with that ridiculous cottoncandy pink floating noodle that you deliberately stuck across the entire width of the cab's interior. Biyatch.

Siewsiew:
I have memories like that too. Like the one Sarah mentioned. Or the one where you were lying with your head on my lap, and.. I can't remember what Sarah was doing. Hmm.
